Split view

Split view lets you edit several documents side by side in independent tab groups within a single window — for example to compare two files, or to keep a reference open while you edit.

Splitting

• Move a tab into a new group, or split the current group, to create a second editing pane.
• Groups can be split further; panes share the window space and can be resized by dragging the divider between them.

Working across groups

• Move to Pane — move the active document to another group from the tab's context menu.
• Merge Group — fold a group's tabs back into another group.
• Drag a tab from one group's tab bar onto another group to move it across.

Saved layout

The arrangement of groups is part of your session, so it can be restored the next time you launch — see the Session plugin.
