Compare / Diff

Compare two files and see exactly what changed, line by line.

Starting a comparison

• File ▸ Compare with File… — pick a second file to compare against the active document.
• When the editor detects that an open file changed on disk, the change notification also offers a Compare button so you can review the difference before reloading.

Reading the result

The comparison opens in a dedicated window that aligns the two files and marks added, removed, and changed lines, so the differences are easy to scan side by side.
